Although a bit pricey, this publication is well worth it. It offers a complete overview on the major aspects of buying cars, from depreciation and mileage, to trade-ins, tires, and financing. Of course, the bulk of the content is devoted to reviews of all major cars over the past decade based on Consumer Reports' own expert testing. Armed with what I learned I feel much more confident going into the used-car buying market either with a private party or a dealership.
